About the role

The successful candidate will undertake research and related teaching activities within the School of Science, UNSW Canberra. This role will contribute to the advancement of the School’s international profile through scholarly research, supervision of research students, and teaching.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research in experimental chemistry, contributing to the School’s research and teaching profile.
  • Supervise research students and contribute to the development of their research projects.
  • Teach a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in chemistry.
  • Engage in scholarly activities such as publishing research papers and presenting at conferences.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, industry partners, and professional networks.
  • Support and inspire a diverse student body, fostering their academic and personal success.

Requirements

  • PhD in Chemistry or a closely related experimental chemistry discipline.
  • Expertise that complements and strengthens the School’s research and teaching profile.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching, curriculum design, and course delivery at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • A strong commitment to student success, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • An established or emerging track record of high-quality research, including scholarly publications, research leadership, supervision of higher degree students, and the ability to develop and sustain a successful research program.
  • Highly developed communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the capacity to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and contribute to the broader academic community.

Qualifications

Pay

Level B: $133,065 - $148,865 per annum
Level C: $161,619 - $177,420 per annum

Schedule

Full-time (35 hours per week)
