About the role
The Senior Facilitator/Consultant (Per Diem) delivers engaging learning experiences—both in person and virtually—that strengthen the professional and leadership capabilities of Montefiore employees from the frontline to the executive level.
Responsibilities
- Create psychologically safe environments where trust is built quickly, participation is encouraged, and diverse perspectives are valued.
- Set clear engagement agreements, model inclusive practices, and address unhelpful behaviors in ways that support respect, collaboration, and growth.
- Surface group dynamics, challenge assumptions with supportive inquiry, and connect participant insights to relevant frameworks and organizational priorities.
- Guide leaders and teams toward constructive dialogue, meaningful reflection, and practical application—enabling improved collaboration, stronger leadership effectiveness, and outcomes aligned with Montefiore’s mission and values.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, Education, Organizational Psychology or related field required - Master's preferred
- 10 years' experience facilitating group dynamics in complex, high stakes, or ad hoc situations, demonstrating agility and presence under pressure.
- Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role, with proven ability to inspire, guide, and influence others effectively.
- Demonstrated expertise in facilitating team development exercises, including interventions that strengthen trust, collaboration, and performance.
- Formal training and experience in group dynamics, with the ability to recognize, surface, and address underlying issues constructively.
- Proven ability to engage participants in interactive workshops both in person and virtually, using tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and other digital collaboration platforms.
- In-depth knowledge of leadership and organizational development theories, models, and best practices, and the ability to translate these into practical application.
- Experience with assessments (e.g., personality, leadership, team effectiveness tools) and demonstrated skill in facilitating group debriefs that generate insight and action.
- Exceptional communication skills—capable of clearly conveying nuanced or complex ideas with clarity, tact, and influence.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups at all levels of the organization, including executives, frontline leaders, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong cultural competence and ability to foster equity, inclusion, and respect for diverse identities in all facilitation contexts.
- Agile learner who actively seeks out resources, research, and practices to keep knowledge and facilitation methods current and relevant.
- Understanding of evaluation methods to measure learning impact and inform continuous improvement.
- Comfortable with a consultative approach, partnering with stakeholders to align facilitation with organizational priorities.
