About the role

We are seeking a senior level electrical engineer for a leading role in our Gainesville, FL office. This position will provide an opportunity to mentor and/or manage junior and mid-level electrical engineering staff members while also working closely with our clients to deliver exceptional services in the energy sector.

Responsibilities

  • Leading an electrical engineering team to provide advisory services and engineering design solutions for clients across all market sectors.
  • Collaborating with Client Account Managers and sales professionals on pursuits of strategic importance to the firm.
  • Engaging with clients, developing relationships, and winning work, then delivering innovative solutions providing value to both the client and provider.
  • Engaging in business growth strategy, including exploration and development of new project opportunities, including knowledge and application of new and emerging technologies.
  • Developing concept-level plans and solutions, and taking them through detailed design to provide for full execution of the solution.
  • Mentoring and developing junior technical staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • At least 10 years of engineering design and/or consulting experience.
  • Professional Engineering licensure (any US state), with the ability to acquire a license in additional states if required for a particular project.
  • Proven ability to engage with clients, develop relationships and win work, then deliver innovative solutions providing value to both the client and provider.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in business growth strategy, including exploration and development of new project opportunities, including knowledge and application of new and emerging technologies.
  • Experience with proposal development and project execution planning, including scope development and manhour estimates for engineering services.
  • Pasison for mentoring and development of junior technical staff.
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills.

Qualifications

  • Experience with power distribution systems and microgrids.
  • Experience with power generation projects exceeding 10MW capacity.
  • Experience with HV or MV substations.
  • Experience with renewable energy projects including wind, solar, hydro, geothermal and other technologies.
  • Experience with energy storage systems.
  • Experience with power system modeling using SKM Power Tools, ETAP or similar modeling software.
  • Experience with protection and control, SCADA or power system automation.
  • Experience with campus utility master planning or decarbonization/climate response planning.
  • Experience with cogeneration or combined heat and power systems.
  • Experience with thermal utility plants and distribution systems (steam, hot water, chilled water).

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
