The energy industry is transforming, and Jacobs is responding by expanding its Energy & Power Solutions team. This role offers an opportunity to lead a team, mentor junior engineers, and engage with clients to deliver innovative energy solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and manage junior and mid-level electrical engineering staff members
  • Work closely with clients to deliver exceptional services in the energy sector
  • Develop concept-level plans and solutions, and take them through detailed design
  • Engage with Client Account Managers and sales professionals on strategic pursuits
  • Collaborate with team members to develop innovative solutions
  • Anticipate challenges and manage “up and out” while supporting large teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • At least 10 years of engineering design and/or consulting experience
  • Professional Engineering licensure (any US state)
  • Proven ability to engage with clients, develop relationships, and win work
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in business growth strategy, including exploration and development of new project opportunities
  • Experience with proposal development and project execution planning
  • Possess highly collaborative and sophisticated communication and problem-solving skills
  • Passion for mentoring and development of junior technical staff
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills

Qualifications

  • Experience with power distribution systems and microgrids
  • Experience with power generation projects exceeding 10MW capacity
  • Experience with HV or MV substations
  • Experience with renewable energy projects including wind, solar, hydro, geothermal, and other technologies
  • Experience with energy storage systems
  • Experience with power system modeling using SKM Power Tools, ETAP or similar modeling software
  • Experience with protection and control, SCADA, or power system automation
  • Experience with campus utility master planning or decarbonization/climate response planning
  • Experience with cogeneration or combined heat and power systems
  • Experience with thermal utility plants and distribution systems (steam, hot water, chilled water)
