The energy industry is transforming, and Jacobs is responding by expanding its Energy & Power Solutions team. This role offers an opportunity to lead a team, mentor junior engineers, and engage with clients to deliver innovative energy solutions.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and manage junior and mid-level electrical engineering staff members
- Work closely with clients to deliver exceptional services in the energy sector
- Develop concept-level plans and solutions, and take them through detailed design
- Engage with Client Account Managers and sales professionals on strategic pursuits
- Collaborate with team members to develop innovative solutions
- Anticipate challenges and manage “up and out” while supporting large teams
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering or related engineering discipline
- At least 10 years of engineering design and/or consulting experience
- Professional Engineering licensure (any US state)
- Proven ability to engage with clients, develop relationships, and win work
- Demonstrated ability to engage in business growth strategy, including exploration and development of new project opportunities
- Experience with proposal development and project execution planning
- Possess highly collaborative and sophisticated communication and problem-solving skills
- Passion for mentoring and development of junior technical staff
- Strong communication and technical writing skills
Qualifications
- Experience with power distribution systems and microgrids
- Experience with power generation projects exceeding 10MW capacity
- Experience with HV or MV substations
- Experience with renewable energy projects including wind, solar, hydro, geothermal, and other technologies
- Experience with energy storage systems
- Experience with power system modeling using SKM Power Tools, ETAP or similar modeling software
- Experience with protection and control, SCADA, or power system automation
- Experience with campus utility master planning or decarbonization/climate response planning
- Experience with cogeneration or combined heat and power systems
- Experience with thermal utility plants and distribution systems (steam, hot water, chilled water)
