About the role
The energy industry is rapidly evolving, driving Jacobs to expand its Energy & Power Solutions team. This role offers an opportunity to lead and mentor a team, work closely with clients, and contribute to the development of innovative energy solutions.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and manage junior and mid-level electrical engineering staff members
- Collaborate with Client Account Managers and sales professionals on strategic pursuits
- Evaluate client energy needs and develop concept-level plans and solutions
- Lead the design and implementation of detailed engineering solutions
- Engage with clients, develop relationships, and win work
- Develop and execute business growth strategies, including proposal development and project execution planning
- Provide advisory services and engineering design solutions for clients across all market sectors
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering or related engineering discipline
- At least 10 years of engineering design and/or consulting experience
- Professional Engineering licensure (any US state)
- Proven ability to engage with clients, develop relationships, and win work
- Demonstrated ability to engage in business growth strategy, including exploration and development of new project opportunities
- Experience with proposal development and project execution planning
- Possess highly collaborative and sophisticated communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to anticipate challenges and manage “up and out” while supporting large teams responsible for the daily details of project delivery
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to develop reliable and sustainable energy projects
- Passionate about developing innovative solutions
- Experience with power distribution systems and microgrids
- Experience with power generation projects exceeding 10MW capacity
- Experience with HV or MV substations
- Experience with renewable energy projects including wind, solar, hydro, geothermal and other technologies
- Experience with energy storage systems
- Experience with power system modeling using SKM Power Tools, ETAP or similar modeling software
- Experience with protection and control, SCADA or power system automation
- Experience with campus utility master planning or decarbonization/climate response planning
- Experience with cogeneration or combined heat and power systems
- Experience with thermal utility plants and distribution systems (steam, hot water, chilled water)

Pay
$111,400.00 to $194,900.00
Schedule
Flexible, with at least 2 days per week in the Gainesville, FL office when not traveling.
