About the role
The Senior Impact Director (SID) is responsible for the overall management and execution of the day-to-day Impact operations and achievement of service outcomes. The SID collaborates with the Impact Operations and Service Senior Directors to meet all departmental goals and supports the development and management of the staff.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coach Impact Directors through weekly team meetings and one-on-one sessions, site visits, performance reviews, and ongoing coaching.
- Create a strategy for the Impact Leadership Team to facilitate best practice sharing, decision making, and alignment.
- Develop a strategy and scope and sequence for Impact Director management and leadership development.
- Lead the Impact Director team in creating a scope and sequence to support management and leadership development for Impact Managers.
- Collaborate with the Senior Service Director to support Impact training design, service quality, and data collection.
- Track Impact Director portfolios to ensure data, deliverables, team progress, observations, and general service implementation are on track to meet end of year goals.
- Solve problems and determine course of action with Impact Directors to ensure quality of day-to-day service implementation across all schools.
- Partner with the Senior Service Director, Senior Impact Operations Director, and Impact Analytics Director to support Impact Directors and Impact Managers in strategy for school deployments.
- Maintain relationships with school principals to build sustainable and transformational partnerships across all portfolios of schools.
- Oversee Impact Director relationships with principals and school liaisons and serve as supervisory contact.
- Manage Work Order, Purchase Order, and Invoice processes in coordination with CPS procurement and CY HQ.
- Collaborate with the Senior Service Director to ensure shared understanding and action-planning regarding AmeriCorps members' professional development needs.
- Consult with the Managing Director of Impact, Senior Service Director, Learning & Development team, and Senior Impact Operations Director to develop training scope and vision for the staff and AmeriCorps members.
- Partner with the Senior Service Director to co-own the process for new and returning staff onboarding and ongoing learning and development needs.
- Partner with City Year Chicago departments and staff through stakeholder engagement, event and service day participation, and cross-departmental committees as needed to ensure site-wide goals are met.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required.
- Minimum 5+ years of team management with a strong track record of results.
- Travel to schools throughout Chicagoland required; must have reliable means of transportation (valid driver's license and vehicle or ability to navigate public transit).
- Setting high expectations and holding self and team accountable for performance goals.
- Promising success in developing diverse talent through performance plans, reviews, and leadership opportunities.
- Using progress and outcome data to inform team management.
- Candidates with a background in education preferred.
- Commitment to and experience with community service, national service, and/or the development of young people as leaders.
- Ability to meet deadlines, plan, and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced and diverse team environment.
- Tenacity and flexibility in the face of challenges; working in high-need environments.
- Experience setting-up structures for effective teams and ability to delegate effectively and appropriately.
- Strong track record in building and maintaining productive relationships with key stakeholders.
