Senior HVAC Mechanic

About the role

The Facilities Management's Health System Physical Plant at the University of Virginia seeks an experienced Senior HVAC Mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Determine priorities for emergency service calls to maintain HVAC service to critical areas and to avoid the destruction of property.
• Perform HVAC repairs and preventative maintenance on a variety of refrigeration equipment.
• Foster a safe work environment by instructing and monitoring compliance of OSHA, BOCA, federal, state, and local regulations.
• Inform customers of job status, reasons for and duration of expected delays, as well as refer customers to the supervisor when appropriate.
• Provide technical guidance and instruction and inspect completed work.
• Maintain accurate daily logs of jobs and time tickets, as well as purchase orders for parts.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: A minimum of seven years of HVAC experience is required. Experience working in a hospital or clinical environment experience is strongly preferred. Experience with HVAC controls and building automation systems a plus.
• Licensure: Journeyman or higher HVAC license required.
• Valid Driver's License.

Pay

The anticipated hiring range for this position is $29.00 - $34.00 per hour ($60,320 - $70,720 per year).
