Overview

Position Title: Senior Human Resources Generalist - Benefits
Location: Danville, IL – Hybrid Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM CST
Salary Range: $50,000–$65,000 annually

Responsibilities

  • Administer and coordinate employee benefits including Group Health (Medical, Dental, Vision), Section 125, Life Insurance, LTD and STD, and other available benefit plans.
  • Monthly billing and eligibility reporting, (enrollments, terminations, and status changes); Education and distribution of benefit information to new hires;
  • Conduct annual Open Enrollment for applicable benefits.
  • Act as an advocate for employee and their families, providing communication, education and problem resolution for all employee benefit areas.
  • Aid employees with life changes, annual enrollments, and coordination of benefits.
  • Conduct new employee benefit orientations.
  • Follow up and completion of online enrollment forms.
  • Provide education and counseling to employees on ESOP and 401k; coordinate annual 5500 for ESOP, 401k and benefit plans as well as annual financial audits.
  • Coordinate annual ACA reporting to IRS; tracking of variable hour employees for benefit eligibility.
  • Processes terms in HRIS system and HR use forms daily.
  • Development and implementation of on-line enrollment process in conjunction with HRIS Specialist.
  • Maintenance of employee personnel and benefit files.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills Highly effective written and composition skills Must possess the ability to lead project teams Problem solve complex issues, and multi task Proven independent and critical thinking skills Ability to provide decisions on a daily basis. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, ability to multi-task and shift priorities.
  • Education And/or Experience College degree or current certification as Professional of Human Resources (PHR) and three years’ experience working in a Human Resources Generalist position, or Associates degree in personnel management or business with five years’ experience in a Human Resources Generalist position. Two years administrative experience with employee benefit programs, including health insurance, 401k, life, long term disability, and short term disability. Proven experience and knowledge of employment law and practical application. Ability and experience training managers and supervisors on HR related policies and employment law. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Individual must be detail oriented and have the ability to work with a minimum of direct supervision.
  • Computer Skills Advanced skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint required. HRIS systems management Certificates, Licenses, Registrations SHRM certification as PHR or SPHR preferred.
