Responsibilities

  • Administer the University’s employee benefit programs in compliance with carrier contracts
  • Maintain a wide variety of benefit information for the purpose of providing up to date reference and audit trail for compliance
  • Processes a variety of information (e.g. COBRA , FMLA and retirement)
  • Process documentation for requests from outside agencies (e.g. worker’s compensation claims, retired and transitional employees; court ordered adjustments, job verifications, tax levies)
  • Reconcile enrollment forms and billings to employee records (e.g. COBRA , disability, retirement Health, FMLA etc)
  • Setup “New” benefit deduction codes in Banner and assign labor distribution data as needed
  • Enter fund, organization, and account changes in Banner
  • Terminate all benefit deductions in Banner and notify insurance companies of terminations
  • Process and submit PERS forms to the retirement system
  • Process Optional Retirement Plan documents

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Extensive working knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding benefits management (ADA , FMLA , Workers Compensation)
  • Ability to communicate effectively to a diverse population
  • Attentiveness to details
  • Ability to work under time constraints
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications
  • Ability to analyze and reconcile billing statements
  • Ability to work independently and interpret various guidelines and regulations
