Responsibilities
- Administer the University’s employee benefit programs in compliance with carrier contracts
- Maintain a wide variety of benefit information for the purpose of providing up to date reference and audit trail for compliance
- Processes a variety of information (e.g. COBRA , FMLA and retirement)
- Process documentation for requests from outside agencies (e.g. worker’s compensation claims, retired and transitional employees; court ordered adjustments, job verifications, tax levies)
- Reconcile enrollment forms and billings to employee records (e.g. COBRA , disability, retirement Health, FMLA etc)
- Setup “New” benefit deduction codes in Banner and assign labor distribution data as needed
- Enter fund, organization, and account changes in Banner
- Terminate all benefit deductions in Banner and notify insurance companies of terminations
- Process and submit PERS forms to the retirement system
- Process Optional Retirement Plan documents
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Extensive working knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding benefits management (ADA , FMLA , Workers Compensation)
- Ability to communicate effectively to a diverse population
- Attentiveness to details
- Ability to work under time constraints
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications
- Ability to analyze and reconcile billing statements
- Ability to work independently and interpret various guidelines and regulations
