About the role
The HR team at Pella is focused on providing extraordinary experiences every time we interact with our team members. In this role, you will play a key role in multiple disciplines of HR including Talent Acquisition, Orientation, Compliance, Policy Interpretation, Performance Management, Employee Engagement, Payroll and Benefits, and HR related efficiency and improvement projects.
Responsibilities
- Conduct exit interviews and process employee's separation from the company including notification of benefits termination and qualification for COBRA, return of company property, ending commission plan, etc.
- Serve as a resource for questions on the following: company policy, company culture, business performance, upcoming programs or initiatives, any other information deemed beneficial for employees.
- Participates in presentations and training sessions.
- Assists in investigations of employee relations issues and concerns, and coordinates process of responding to complaints.
- Prepares documentation of verbal/written warnings and performance improvement plans, employee counseling and/or corrective action.
- Prepares, initiate, track and assess results of engagement surveys such as Gallup and Top workplaces.
- Maintains and upholds the utmost standard of integrity and confidentiality.
- Company expert in terms of FMLA, ADA, COBRA, FLSA and other labor legislation.
- Ensure all company, state and federal reporting requirements are met and maintained.
- Provide employment and wage verifications according to company policy.
- Maintains accurate employee files and records.
- Create job postings for use internally and/or externally.
- Reviews applications and conducts initial phone screens.
- Routes employment offers for internal approval and sends final offers to candidates.
- Guides candidates through and facilitates stages from Offer Acceptance through Day 1.
- Conduct New Hire Orientation.
- Manage benefit enrollment and termination for employer sponsored benefit plans.
- Prepare for and manage the annual open enrollment process for each of these benefits in partnership with GM of HR.
- Initiates STD, MN PFMLA, or FMLA as needed, tracks Leaves of absence in Payroll system.
- Maintains data integrity within payroll system (Paycor).
- Partners with Departmental leaders on improvement requests.
- Partners with GM of HR to improve HR specific processes, procedures and systems.
- Maintains accuracy in all areas of responsibility.
- Absorbs any area of the department necessary for team success.
Requirements
- Ability to work onsite required, minimum of 2 days onsite required, 4 - 5 days onsite preferred.
- Strong attention to detail required.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written.
- Ability to address sensitive conversations professionally.
- Ability to multitask and excel in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer Focused, Results Orientated, Goal Driven & Self Motivated.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Experience in ATS, HRIS, and/or Payroll systems required.
- Must have a strong knowledge base in multiple HR Disciplines as well as Federal/State/Local Laws and Regulations.
- Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years related experience required.
