About the role
We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations across multiple functional areas. This role involves conducting HR generalist activities such as recruiting, selection, onboarding, training, employee relations, and payroll. Additionally, you will assist with communication and enrollment of benefits, safety, and wellness programs, oversee hourly performance management processes, utilize HRIS systems to manage payroll, wage updates, status changes, attendance, and employee records, support FMLA, disability, and other leave of absence programs, ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies, promote open communication, and participate in professional development.
Responsibilities
- Conduct HR generalist activities including recruiting, selection, onboarding, training, employee relations, and payroll
- Aid in communication and enrollment of benefits, safety, and wellness programs in partnership with functional teams
- Oversee hourly performance management processes and guide managers in addressing performance gaps
- Utilize Workday or other HR systems to manage payroll, wage updates, status changes, attendance, and employee records
- Serve as the point of contact for FMLA, disability, and other leave of absence programs
- Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and company policies
- Promote open communication and maintain visibility to support employee questions and concerns
- Participate in professional development and stay current on employment laws (FMLA, OSHA, wage regulations, etc.)
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Experience supporting multiple HR functions (recruiting, employee relations, payroll, etc.)
- Knowledge of HR laws and regulations
- Experience with HRIS systems (Workday preferred)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or plant environment
- Prior experience with leave administration (FMLA, disability)
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
