About the role

The Senior HR Generalist will collaborate with HR business partners and unit leadership to define and execute HR initiatives and process improvements. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of management and frontline teams. The position may also support additional special projects and requires a broad spectrum of knowledge of HR programs, business processes, and technology.

Responsibilities

  • Manage onboarding programs and management training related to HR.
  • Coordinate and partner with corporate support and onsite management in HR functional areas, including recruiting, training, and administrative tasks.
  • Develop and deliver training presentations regarding human resources policies, programs, and practices.
  • Standardize HR processes and practices across the system.
  • Investigate and advise management on appropriate resolution of associate relations issues in partnership with the HR Advice and Guidance team and/or Labor Relations.
  • Serve as a content expert regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Coordinate and conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations and create strategies for improving retention.
  • Support internal customer surveys, associate satisfaction interpretation, feedback processes, and action planning.
  • Lead initiatives to improve turnover and associate engagement.
  • Identify client needs and evaluate new and/or alternative business solutions to meet business objectives.
  • Identify, leverage, and integrate current technology to increase the effectiveness of internal and external HR communication.
  • Develop new metrics and dashboards for process improvements.
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements and maintaining records.
  • May have direct reports in relation to HR functional areas, including recruiting, training, and administrative tasks.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Monitor and track HR assessments completion and advise operations on areas of improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5 years of Human Resources experience.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with an ability to distill information clearly.
  • Experience with union accounts.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Understanding of technical terminology related to business environments and information technology systems.
  • Excellent judgment and ability to balance multiple tasks.
  • Personable, with the ability to finesse situations and build consensus among business partners.
  • Broad experience with different facets of HR, with a strong understanding of global HR differences (e.g., employment requirements, benefits).
  • Experienced and comfortable with data management and reporting (able to define, gather, and synthesize data from multiple sources).
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Thorough attention to detail with excellent prioritization skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Enjoys a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Must be a team player.

Skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Project, Visio, Outlook, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
