About the role
Come care with us at American Career College where you will meet with students and prospective students to provide information on financial aid and options that can help them develop a financial plan for achieving their healthcare career goals. In addition, you will put your technical financial aid skills to work ensuring proper eligibility and processing in accordance with federal, state, and institutional rules and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as VA Certifying Official for campus, including monitoring eligibility status for students receiving military education benefits, timely update of enrollment and eligibility details in VA Once software, and responding to student questions or requests for information.
- Assist with training/mentoring of new Financial Aid Planners through appointment observations, mentoring, and shadowing activities.
- Review pending private loan disbursements and batches, adjust or schedule refunds as appropriate, and document actions in CampusVue and ELM.
- Assist Financial Aid Director with general operations and management activities such as monitoring office appointment calendar, delegating activities, managing student traffic, and generation/compilation of reports or data as requested by the Financial Aid Director.
Requirements
- Ability to demonstrate the highest levels of integrity and professional ethics in all aspects of the job function.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills through active listening and delivery of information in a clear and effective manner.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Financial Aid Planner at American Career College is preferred.
Qualifications
Associate's Degree from an accredited College or University required.
