Financial Aid Planner

About the Role

Join American Career College and help students and prospective students develop financial plans for their healthcare career goals. You will provide information on financial aid options, ensure proper eligibility and processing in accordance with federal, state, and institutional regulations, and contribute to students' educational journeys.

Responsibilities

• Meet with students and prospective students to provide information on costs of attendance, financial aid options, and student loan counseling.
• Review documentation, forms, and other student-provided information for accuracy and completeness; update electronic student files and scan documents into Image Now.
• Review student records to resolve discrepant or conflicting information and document resolutions.
• Review ISIR data to resolve c-codes, request required verification items, and document actions in the student electronic file.
• Assist students and parents with requesting FSA User IDs and completing FAFSAs, MPNs, and online student loan entrance/exit counseling.
• Provide in-person student loan counseling for those unable to complete online counseling.
• Consent to audio and video recording of student financial aid appointments for training and quality assurance.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year’s experience as a customer service provider in a professional environment.
• Highest levels of integrity and professional ethics.
• Excellent communication skills, including active listening and clear information delivery.
• Excellent customer service skills with a professional, helpful, and positive demeanor.
• Must not be in default on a federal student loan or owe repayment on a federal grant.

Qualifications

Associate's Degree from an accredited College or University preferred.
