Job Summary
Come care with us at American Career College where you will meet with students and prospective students to provide information on financial aid and options that can help them develop a financial plan for achieving their healthcare career goals. In addition, you will put your technical financial aid skills to work ensuring proper eligibility and processing in accordance with federal, state, and institutional rules and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Meet with students and prospective students to provide information regarding costs of attendance, available financial aid options, and student loan counseling.
- Review documentation, forms and other information provided by students to ensure accuracy and completeness, update electronic student file appropriately based on information received, and scan documents into Image Now.
- Review student records to ensure any discrepant or conflicting information is appropriately resolved, and documents same.
- Review ISIR data to ensure c-codes are appropriately resolved and required verification items are requested, and document actions or resolutions are fully in the student electronic file.
- Aid students and parents with directions for requesting FSA User IDs, and online completion of FAFSAs (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), MPNs (Master Promissory Notes), and online student loan entrance and exit counseling.
- Provide in-person student loan counseling for those who are unable to complete online counseling.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience as a customer service provider in a professional environment.
- Ability to demonstrate the highest levels of integrity and professional ethics in all aspects of the job function.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills through active listening and delivery of information clearly and effectively.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service skills, with a professional, helpful, and positive demeanor.
- May not be in default on a federal student loan or owe repayment on a federal grant.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate's Degree from an accredited College or University preferred.
