About the role
We're seeking a Senior Finance Manager to support a growing real estate portfolio. This leadership role partners closely with executive leadership, real estate development, and property management teams to drive financial strategy, acquisition analysis, compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and portfolio performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze acquisition and development financial models.
- Support financing transactions, capital planning, and debt management activities.
- Maintain and enhance financial models for existing and proposed developments.
- Evaluate financial risks, opportunities, and investment scenarios for development projects.
- Partner with development and property management teams on budgeting and forecasting initiatives.
- Review financial aspects of acquisitions, closings, draw requests, and financing documentation.
- Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
- Provide executive leadership with KPI reporting and strategic financial recommendations.
- Perform complex financial analysis and scenario modeling to support business decisions.
- Prepare budget-to-actual reporting and variance analysis.
- Oversee financial compliance reporting related to affordable housing, grants, contracts, and financing agreements.
- Cook up audits, tax schedules, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with lender, investor, governmental, and contractual obligations.
- Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Oversee financial reporting for assigned entities and portfolios.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of accounting data, financial systems, and reporting processes.
- Support cash management, reserve management, and cost allocation methodologies.
- Drive process improvements, automation, and operational efficiencies.
- Supervise and mentor accounting and finance staff.
- Build collaborative partnerships across finance, development, and operations teams.
- Promote knowledge sharing, process documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or related field.
- Experience: 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance reporting. 3+ years of management or supervisory experience. Experience supporting real estate portfolios, development projects, or affordable housing organizations.
- Qualifications: Strong preference for candidates with: Real Estate Development (RED) experience, HUD program knowledge, Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) experience, Affordable housing finance and compliance expertise, Real estate acquisitions and financing experience, Property management accounting experience, Multi-entity accounting and reporting experience, Experience working with nonprofit or community development organizations.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities, Experience with property management and accounting systems, Strong understanding of: GAAP, Budgeting and forecasting, Debt and banking structures, Financial statement analysis, Audit and tax support, Data analytics and reporting.
- Other: Ability to convert large data sets into actionable financial insights.
Pay
USD120000 - USD140000 per year
