What You’ll Do
- Lead Field Execution: Develop and execute detailed plans for work performed at customer sites. Coordinate planned activities with customers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure safe and efficient project completion.
- Oversee Turnkey Projects: Lead on-site turnkey installation and commissioning projects, assisting with project planning and scheduling to meet scope, timeline, and quality requirements.
- Direct Equipment Assembly & Quality Control: Lead and direct assembly of equipment division products, ensuring proper techniques, quality control standards, and compliance with specifications.
- Manage Site Operations: Organize and supervise site mobilization and demobilization activities. Review subcontractor timesheets, confirm change orders, document job progress, conduct daily pre-job briefings, and perform safety observations and reporting.
- Provide Expert Technical Support: Deliver advanced technical support to internal and external customers, third-party service organizations, and end users. Train and evaluate third-party service providers on product service and installation standards.
- Train And Educate Customers: Develop and deliver customer training programs and materials related to MEPPI product offerings and testing software.
- Program And Troubleshoot Controls: Program, calibrate, install, and troubleshoot electronic control devices. Analyze graphical and performance data both onsite and remotely to diagnose and resolve issues.
- Commission And Test Equipment: Develop commissioning test plans, set up test equipment, analyze results, and document findings. Train customers in the use of testing tools and software.
- Collaborate Across Divisions: Work closely with Project, Engineering, and Sales teams to address equipment performance issues and deliver effective product solutions. Recommend long-term solutions.
- Document And Report: Maintain accurate service records and develop detailed reports related to equipment repair, inspection, and commissioning activities.
What You Bring
- Education & Experience: Associate degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field required. Minimum of eight (8) years of experience troubleshooting and repairing technical, electrical, and/or electronic products, including at least five (5) years of experience with substation or power electronics-related equipment.
- Technical Expertise: Advanced field application knowledge of substation-related products. Advanced knowledge of common electrical equipment, substation construction, and associated systems. Advanced proficiency with mechanical and electronic test equipment, including operation, data collection, analysis, and reporting. Advanced knowledge of communications and networking protocols. Advanced ability to read and interpret technical drawings, mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics, bills of material, and instruction manuals.
- Skills & Capabilities: Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills to effectively interact with customers, employees, and suppliers. Ability to organize activities and work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office products, Microsoft Project, MRP/ERP systems, and company timekeeping and expense reporting systems.
