Senior Field Engineer (Pre-Sales/Forward Deployed Engineer)

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Account Executives to prioritize strategic opportunities and act as technical lead for complex engagements.
• Lead the design and implementation of first-of-their-kind industrial agents using Cognite Atlas AI™ and Cognite Data Fusion®.
• Conduct use case workshops and briefings, translating requirements into deliverable high-level use cases.
• Act as critical bridge between field and Product organization, translating deployment learnings into product requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in industrial verticals (Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, or Pharmaceuticals).
• 3+ years in forward deployed engineering, pre-sales engineering, or software development (enterprise SaaS, cloud, or industrial software).
• Strong engineering background (Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Machine Learning preferred).
• Proficiency in Python and deep understanding of GenAI landscape (embeddings, RAG, prompt chaining).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Preferred Experience

• Education or experience in industrial spaces (e.g., Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, or Control System Engineering).
• Previous customer-facing or sales experience.
• Familiarity with real-world industrial variables and data quality challenges in heavy industry.
