Senior Executive Assistant
About the Role
This is a career-level opportunity for an accomplished senior administrative professional who wants to work at the center of a highly visible, ambitious, and growing institution. We are hiring a Senior Executive Coordinator to manage the daily execution behind Chancellor Daniel Diermeier's complex schedule, travel, meetings, correspondence, and priorities. You will work closely with the Executive Director and other senior members of the Chancellor's Office, helping coordinate the people, information, preparation, and logistics behind some of Vanderbilt's most important work. This role offers exposure to university leaders, trustees, donors, government officials, corporate executives, media organizations, and other influential stakeholders. You will also support a Chancellor whose work extends far beyond a traditional university setting and includes national media, public policy, philanthropy, business, and Vanderbilt's continued expansion into new markets.
What Makes This Role Different
This is not basic calendar management. You will be trusted to understand context, protect time, resolve conflicts, identify missing information, anticipate what comes next, and make sound decisions within established guidelines. You will help turn major priorities into organized daily execution while becoming part of an experienced, collaborative team building a stronger executive-office structure for Vanderbilt's future.
