Responsibilities

  • Provide direct leadership to a team of environmental professionals, including workload planning, staff development, mentoring, performance feedback, and support for career growth.
  • Foster an inclusive, high-performing team culture focused on technical excellence, collaboration, and client service.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams on complex energy projects, driving delivery that is timely, high quality, and aligned with scope, budget, and client expectations.
  • Direct site selection and route evaluation for transmission, distribution, and generation facilities, helping clients make informed, strategic decisions.
  • Lead environmental permitting efforts, application development, agency coordination, public meetings, and stakeholder engagement across complex projects.
  • Partner with local, state, and federal agencies and provide strategic guidance on filing requirements, regulatory pathways, and project approvals.
  • Prepare and manage Public Utility Commission/Public Service Commission applications, including expert testimony.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecology, Engineering, Environmental Science, Project Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience managing environmental projects in the energy sector, including transmission, generation, renewables, or pipelines.
  • Experience serving as a team lead, practice lead, or functional lead within an environmental, engineering, or consulting organization.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and collaborate effectively across all levels of an organization.
  • Demonstrated success developing winning proposals, delivering compelling presentations, and supporting client growth.
  • Demonstrated expertise in siting and routing, permitting, impact assessments, and regulatory compliance in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, or Mississippi.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of the Texas/Louisiana energy market and ability to help clients navigate complex regulatory, environmental, and stakeholder challenges.
  • Experience with expert witness testimony is a strong plus.
  • Market insight to stay ahead of policy developments, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies shaping the Texas/Louisiana and the broader south-central U.S. energy markets.
  • Trusted partnership to serve as a trusted advisor to clients, regulators, landowners, and internal teams, helping navigate complex environmental, permitting, and stakeholder issues.
  • Business growth to lead proposal development, scope definition, budgets, schedules, and client relationship expansion to support continued growth in the region, including strategic hiring, staff utilization, and succession planning.
  • Operational excellence to champion innovation, continuous improvement, and best practices that strengthen team capability, consistency, and project delivery performance across the region.
