Senior Enterprise Infrastructure Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented, and collaborative Hosting Engineer to join our team. This position will report to the Senior Manager, Core Platforms within the Corporate IT I&O Organization. You will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing Modine’s core enterprise server environments and critical IT platforms. The ideal candidate will blend strong technical expertise (including Exchange, SolarWinds, cloud hosting, vulnerability management, and on-prem server administration) with a customer-first mindset, exceptional communication skills, and a highly organized approach to multitasking and managing complex projects.
Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Windows/Linux servers (physical & virtualized).
- Monitor server performance, perform capacity planning, vulnerability remediation, and assist in the management of backup/recovery processes.
- Administer and maintain messaging platforms (Exchange/M365) and enterprise monitoring solutions (SolarWinds) to ensure proactive alerting and uptime.
- Assist in the design, deployment, and management of scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform and Azure as required.
- Provide comprehensive support with a strong focus on customer service, ensuring minimal downtime and prompt, professional resolution for internal teams.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for infrastructure configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in systems engineering, server administration, and enterprise IT infrastructure.
- Strong experience with server administration for both Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Exchange and monitoring tools like SolarWinds.
- Experience managing IaaS and SaaS environments (GCP, Microsoft Azure, etc.).
- Experience managing vulnerability management lifecycles, patching tools, and endpoint protection.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar).
- Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps tools and practices.
- Experience with IT service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
- Microsoft, Google Cloud, and/or CompTIA+ certifications.
Travel Requirements
This position may require up to 10% travel in certain circumstances to support regional operations and collaborative engineering initiatives.
