Senior Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the reliability, security, scalability, and cost efficiency of the organization’s cloud and data platforms. This role focuses on AWS cloud infrastructure and Snowflake data platform operations while partnering with engineering, data, and security teams to support high-performance, compliant systems. The position plays a critical role in ensuring reliable data access, processing, and analysis across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Operate and optimize Snowflake environments, including warehouse management, cost monitoring, RBAC administration, and query performance optimization.
- Build, manage, and improve AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure using Terraform and GitOps tools.
- Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments.
- Drive infrastructure optimization initiatives focused on performance, scalability, reliability, and cost control.
- Strengthen cloud infrastructure security through IAM, RBAC, network controls, and secrets management aligned with compliance requirements.
- Develop and maintain centralized observability systems covering metrics, logging, monitoring, and alerting.
- Automate infrastructure and operational processes to improve reliability and engineering efficiency.
- Collaborate with developers, data engineers, security teams, and other technical stakeholders to resolve infrastructure challenges.
- Participate in a U.S.-business-hours on-call rotation and support production infrastructure as needed.
- Apply AI-assisted engineering practices to coding, documentation, troubleshooting, and technical analysis.
Requirements
- Production experience with Snowflake or a comparable cloud data warehouse.
- Strong experience building and operating AWS cloud infrastructure with an emphasis on security, reliability, and cost optimization.
- Advanced proficiency with infrastructure as code, particularly Terraform.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized environments.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages.
- Familiarity with CI/CD platforms and tools such as GitHub Actions.
- Experience with cloud security concepts including IAM, RBAC, networking, and secrets management.
- Experience implementing monitoring, observability, logging, and alerting solutions.
- Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools safely and effectively.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to adopt AI-native practices for software development, documentation, and technical analysis.
