About the role

The position is eligible for a Tiered Sign-On Bonus up to $5,000. This position is responsible for specializing in Mechanical & Electrical projects such as HVAC controls, LED Lighting, retro commissioning and solar PV and EV charging projects. This position assists in energy analysis and long-term planning for the entire building portfolio to reduce utility and operating costs and make progress on County strategic goals and resolutions.

Responsibilities

  • Facility Management: Keeps Wake County facilities, its building systems and related equipment operating as consistently and efficiently as possible-this includes assisting Trades Supervisors with troubleshooting system failures and ensuring that buildings are code compliant and meet all regulatory requirements
  • Project Management: Function as or work collaboratively with Project Managers on establishing the scope, budget, design, schedule and implementation of the project
  • Data Analysis: Analyze a range of data inputs including utility data and building system information to identify meaningful trends that will assist in decision-making processes and interpret diagnostics on system operations in order to maintain the integrity of core building systems
  • Presentations: Ability to craft and deliver detailed presentations on energy concepts for a broad range of audiences
  • Leadership: Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems and general construction principals and processes is required to offer guidance to all related Trades groups
  • Planning: Assists in the planning of CIP projects in the Energy Conservation Measure CIP- this position will work with the trade groups to ensure that technology implemented and considered has a defined maintenance plan

Requirements

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facility Management or related field and five years of job-related experience. A valid driver's license and a "safe" driving equivalent is preferred. Project management related certification (PMP), CEM or PEM Certification, eight years of experience in engineering or architecture related field, five years or more experience in managing projects, North Carolina Professional Engineering License or Architecture Registration, firm grasp of mechanical, electrical and plumbing operations along with general construction knowledge, two years direct experience with Building Management Systems/Building Automation Systems or Building Commissioning are preferred.

Qualifications

A firm grasp of mechanical, electrical and plumbing operations along with general construction knowledge is required. Two years direct experience with Building Management Systems/Building Automation Systems or Building Commissioning is preferred. Knowledge of workplace safety practices and PPE to conform with OSHA requirements is essential.

Skills

Passion for reducing energy consumption and cost in commercial facilities, ability to identify problems, determine possible solutions and actively work to resolve the issues with sound judgement, strong project management skills including the ability to work with multiple disciplines to complete a project, knowledge and experience in HVAC controls and building commissioning, strong interpersonal skills ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with others, excellent computer skills including the ability to manipulate large databases and extract relevant information, proven ability to estimate, budget, plan, organize and prioritize a large portfolio of projects, strong troubleshooting skill including the ability to take data from multiple sources to identify the point of failure, ability to firmly adhere to codes of conduct and ethical principles and set a good example for team members.

Pay

Hiring Range: $88,538 - $123,949
Market Range: $88,538.00 - $159,359.00
