Senior Electrical Engineer - Radar Computing and Network System Design

About the role

The Radar Digital Products Department is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong background in COTS computing and networking to join our Hardware and Infrastructure team. This position involves designing and developing systems using commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) computing and networking products, as well as collaborating with various teams to deliver safety-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Work with Product Leads and other team members on a variety of tasks related to the design and development of systems using COTS computing and networking products.
• Design COTS hardware infrastructure systems (e.g., X86-based processors).
• Research and select servers, workstations, add-in interface cards, storage devices, and other COTS hardware.
• Engineer BIOS and operating system configuration definitions.
• Collaborate in development with hardware engineering disciplines, supply chain, suppliers, field engineering, on-site installation and trades, and customers to develop and deliver safety critical systems.
• Support occasional domestic travel and potential international travel.

Qualifications

• You must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent STEM discipline.
• You must have at least five (5) years of professional experience.
• You must have experience with emerging and legacy hardware and software, including Unix and Linux operating systems.
• You must have experience developing and implementing computing, networking, and information technology infrastructure through a rigorous design and documentation process.
• You must have experience taking a system design concept from the block diagram or requirements level and developing a complete COTS-based hardware design and then design verification via integration and test plans and activities.
• We prefer current or in-progress computing/networking certifications (e.g., CCNA, AWS, CISSP).
• We prefer experience with RADAR system hardware.
• We prefer experience with firewall design and configuration.
• We prefer experience implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides and network hardening.
• We prefer experience with system-level hardware integration and troubleshooting skills.
