Electrical Engineer II - Radar Computing and Network System Design

The Radar Digital Products Department is seeking an Electrical Engineer with a strong COTS computing and networking background to join our Hardware and Infrastructure team, implementing the next generation of RADAR solutions. This position is based in Tewksbury, MA, or Marlborough, MA, and requires an active and existing security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Work with Product Leads and other team members on tasks related to the design and development of systems using Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) computing and networking products.
- Conduct radar processing and network system design (e.g., X86-based processors).
- Research and select servers, workstations, add-in interface cards, storage devices, networking, and other COTS hardware.
- Define BIOS and operating system configurations.
- Perform system prototyping and integration in the lab.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience (an advanced degree may substitute for two additional years of experience):
- Experience with emerging and legacy hardware and software, including Unix and Linux operating systems.
- Experience taking a system design concept from block diagram or requirements level to a complete COTS-based hardware design, and verifying the design via integration and test plans.
- Experience working in a lab environment with standard test equipment (oscilloscopes, processor bus analyzers, emulators, data capture tools, etc.).
- U.S. citizenship with an active and existing Secret security clearance.
Preferred
- Experience developing and implementing computing, networking, and IT infrastructure through rigorous design and documentation processes.
- Experience collaborating with hardware engineering, supply chain, suppliers, field engineering, installation teams, and customers on safety-critical systems.
- Current or in-progress computing/networking certifications (e.g., CCNA, AWS, CISSP).
- Experience with RADAR system hardware, firewall design, and STIG implementation.
- System-level hardware integration and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Willingness to support occasional domestic and potential international travel.
