Senior Director of Product
Job Summary
Pet Place is seeking a Senior Director of Product, responsible for shaping and executing a unified product vision across our animal health and wellness portfolio. This role drives product innovation for both DTC consumer experiences and B2B platforms purpose-built for shelters, rescues, and veterinary professionals, enabling more efficient operations and better outcomes for pets and the people who care for them.
Main Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Vision: Develop and articulate a clear, multi-year product strategy for PetPlace and 24Pet that advances animal health and wellness and supports both consumer and professional stakeholders.
Lead roadmap creation across:
- DTC experiences (content, wellness tools, digital services, pet parent engagement, monetization via insurance and memberships).
- B2B platforms supporting rescue, shelter, and veterinary workflows, including case management, medical records, intake/adoption processes, lost & found services, and partner integrations.
Use customer insights, shelter and vet operations data, pet parent behavior, and industry trends to prioritize innovation across both brands.
Leadership & Organizational Development: Build and mentor a mission-driven team of product leaders and UX designers focused on enhancing pet wellbeing and the experience of those who care for them.
Foster a collaborative, cross-functional culture between Product, Engineering, UX, Data, Marketing, Sales, and Operations.
Promote strong product practices that blend human-centered design, data-driven decision-making, and scalable, reliable delivery.
Lead SAFe ceremonies across the portfolio, including PI Planning, solution-level syncs, and portfolio reviews, ensuring transparency and alignment across multiple teams and brands.
Prioritize initiatives spanning consumer experiences and professional tools for shelters, rescues, and vet clinics based on business impact, with ability to build business cases to justify resource allocation and manage costs appropriately.
Improve the organization’s agile maturity, predictability, and velocity across all product teams.
Oversee end-to-end delivery of products that support:
- DTC pet parent journeys (education, behavior guidance, wellness tools, membership services, insurance).
- B2B rescue, shelter, and veterinary software (operational dashboards, medical record systems, workflow tools, API integrations, partner solutions).
Define success metrics that measure outcomes such as improved shelter throughput, enhanced efficiency and time savings, admin overhead, engagement, adoption, revenue, and platform reliability.
Ensure that product releases uphold high standards of quality, security, accessibility, and user experience for both consumer and professional audiences.
Partner with Marketing, Sales, Operations, Customer Care, and Commercial teams to ensure the product strategy enhances brand trust and delivers value for PetPlace and 24Pet audiences.
Engage with shelters, rescue organizations, and veterinary partners to understand operational needs, validate product direction, and strengthen long-term relationships.
Communicate product plans, priorities, and progress to executive leadership, cross-functional teams, and key industry partners.
