Responsibilities

  • Aid in due diligence efforts on potential or new land banks and properties
  • Evaluate opportunities to design and build new data centers
  • Work with key stakeholders: Corporate Real Estate, Connectivity, Power & Construction teams
  • Establish and monitor entitlement and permit processes for individual projects
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Interface with all levels of the organization
  • Communicate program updates to executive level using PowerPoint
  • Create and maintain site program & individual project budgets using Excel
  • Manage project budgets/cost-to-date against overall project budget
  • Monitor project schedules and ensure on-time completion
  • Review change order requests from contractors and negotiate pricing
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key QTS stakeholders
  • Represent QTS interests in OAC meetings
  • Create and build relationships that enhance QTS’s ability to lead in data center real estate

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management field or equivalent professional experience
  • One or more years of professional experience in commercial construction practices and procedures
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, specifically PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience with management of MEP trades
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization
  • Proven team player with strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management field or equivalent professional experience
  • One or more years of professional experience in commercial construction practices and procedures
  • Experience or exposure in mission critical data center facilities
  • Experience with management of MEP trades
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization
  • Proven team player with strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Skills

  • Management of Lump Sum, Construction Management @ Risk, and Design Build project delivery methods
  • Entitlement and permitting needs for each assigned site project(s)
  • Procurement and project cost estimates
  • Submittals coordination with site stakeholders
  • Change order requests negotiation
  • Site construction security procedures establishment
