Senior Data Analyst, Marketing Analytics
About the role
Archer Education is seeking a proactive Senior Data Analyst to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage projects with minimal supervision. This role partners with data engineering to design and maintain BigQuery data models for our Performance Marketing business, which generates leads and clicks for online higher education programs. The Senior Data Analyst will establish the foundation for automated reporting and future AI-agent-driven, self-service data exploration for the Performance Marketing team. Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential to identify gaps and opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Data Model Strategy & Design: Partner with data engineering to architect and maintain BigQuery data frameworks and models that support performance marketing lead/click reporting, structured for both immediate reporting needs and future AI-agent consumption.
- Requirements Gathering & Prioritization: Collaborate directly with the internal Performance Marketing team to identify and document data needs, translate business questions into technical requirements, and prioritize deliverables based on business impact.
- Sprint Delivery Management: Manage prioritized data model requirements through engineering sprint cycles, serving as the primary liaison between Performance Marketing’s analytics and reporting needs and data engineering build capacity.
- Reporting Development: Develop and deliver functional reporting solutions that analyze business functions, key operations, and performance metrics using underlying, production-ready data models.
- Ad Hoc Analysis: Respond to ad hoc data and reporting requests from Performance Marketing and Managed Services leadership as they arise.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all deliverables meet high standards of quality, accuracy, and relevance.
- Leadership Responsibilities: Train and mentor junior analysts, provide work guidance and support, troubleshoot errors, and collaborate on solutions within and beyond the analyst team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science, or another quantitative field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 4+ years in an analytical role.
- Working knowledge of performance marketing metrics (leads, clicks, conversion/click-through rate, cost-per-lead, attribution) and how they translate into data model design.
- Ability to design reusable, scalable data structures rather than one-off reports.
- Familiarity with sprint-based delivery (Agile/Scrum) and the ability to write clear technical requirements for data engineers.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to varied audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Robust quality control skills to ensure the highest standards of accuracy and reliability.
- Self-motivated and proactive, capable of managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Google Suite, and SQL.
- Adaptive to a complex and changing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in performance marketing analytics (lead/click generation environments strongly preferred).
- Experience partnering with data engineers or technical teams on data pipeline/model requirements.
- Exposure to AI-assisted analytics tools or interest in how AI agents can be trained against structured data models.
- Prior experience acting as a business/technical translator between a marketing function and an engineering resource.
- Hands-on BigQuery development experience, beyond reporting/dashboard consumption.
