About the role
Amentum is seeking a Senior Combat Control Systems (AN/BYG-1) Engineering Technician to support efforts in Groton, CT.
Responsibilities
- Technical evaluation and performance of corrective actions for AN/BYG-1 systems in accordance with DoD, Navy Maintenance Procedures, and Cyber System instructions
- Aid in the disassembly, reassembly, installation, and testing of AN/BYG-1 systems on submarines
- Support various engineering tasks including installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, and operation of AN/BYG-1 systems
- Assist with test and evaluation
- Perform validations/verifications of AN/BYG-1 systems
- Develop technical/engineering data for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical manuals, troubleshooting procedures, drawing updates, operation procedures, and maintainability improvements
- Engage in systems engineering activities with subject matter expertise
- Direct on-site customer interface for equipment/systems installation, testing, survey, fabrication, and other engineering tasks
- Ensure compliance with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, and system specifications and test procedures; review change proposals for equipment impacts
Requirements
- Active Secret US Government Clearance (US Citizenship required to maintain)
- High School Diploma/GED and ten (10) years of practical experience OR degree/formal training and six (6) years' experience
- Hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting, repairing networking equipment and Windows servers and workstations
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in engineering technology, math, or science
- Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications
- Four-year electronics apprentice program
