Responsibilities
- Manage the unit's financial operations, ensuring effective budget oversight and revenue generation.
- Oversee human resource activities including hiring, firing, coaching and performance management for staff.
- Drive performance improvement initiatives focused on key metrics, quality assurance, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure the effective integration and use of technology in patient care and nursing practices.
- Lead strategic initiatives, facilitating change management, collaboration, and shared decision making to align unit objectives with organizational goals.
- Develop and implement performance management, staff development, and retention strategies to enhance workforce engagement.
- Cultivate relationships and influence behaviors by managing situations effectively and promoting professional development.
- Champion diversity in staffing and patient care settings.
- Demonstrate personal and professional accountability in all responsibilities.
Requirements
- Critical Care or ED experience required, transport experience preferred.
- Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
- Strong leadership skills including communication/organizational skills, time management, coping skills, motivation, problem solving, autonomy, and supporting the team are required.
- Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor of Science in Nursing [BSN] is required; Master's degree in Nursing [MSN} or other field [MBA, MHA, MPH, etc.) is required or obtained within 3 years of hire.
- Licensure: Currently licensed to practice nursing as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio is required.
- Certification: Current Health Care Provider BLS training from the American Heart Association is required.
- If assigned to general care units, PEARS is required.
- If assigned to critical care units, PALS, ACLS, TNCC, and/or NRP is required.
- If assigned to ED, Surgical Services, Sedation Services, Transitional Care/Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, and Transport, within 1 year of date of hire PALS, ACLS, TNCC, and/or NRP is required.
- Relevant professional nursing certification, preferred.
