Senior Claims Representative - Hybrid

About the role
This is a hybrid position based in Richfield, OH, requiring on-site presence four days a week (core days: Tuesday–Thursday) with one remote day. The role focuses on managing bodily injury claims within a culture built on connection, shared learning, and strong relationships.
Responsibilities
- Manage an inventory of claims to evaluate compensability and liability.
- Plan and conduct claim investigations to confirm coverage, liability, compensability, and damages.
- Determine and negotiate appropriate claim settlements and reserves within prescribed authority; may attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.
- Convey moderately complex information regarding coverage and settlements to insureds, claimants, and external partners.
- Authorize payments within assigned authority limits and ensure timely disbursement.
- Maintain accurate and detailed claim files, including correspondence, reports, and settlement agreements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Risk Management and Insurance, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in property and casualty claims handling.
- Completion of or progress toward a professional designation (e.g., Associate in Claims (AIC)) preferred.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of insurance policies, coverage, claims handling procedures, and industry laws/regulations.
- Ability to organize and prioritize caseloads for timely claim resolution.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build relationships and lead negotiations.
- Discretion in handling confidential information.
