Senior Claims Manager EPL - Remote

About the role

The Senior Claims Manager - Employment Practice Liability (“EPL”) is responsible for handling Employment Practice Liability Claims. This role involves coverage analysis, investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and disposition of claims. The individual must collaborate with business partners and defense counsel to manage litigation activities and claim outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and resolve coverage issues for Employment Practices claims.
• Investigate claims through various methods and present claims and claim trends to leadership.
• Analyze information to determine ultimate exposure to the organization and ensure claims are processed within company policies and procedures.
• Negotiate and resolve claims in collaboration with defense counsel and within provided authority.
• Provide reports to leadership, claims, reinsurance, and legal on significant exposure cases.
• Ensure proper referrals and timely updates to appropriate reinsurers.
• Communicate and collaborate with key stakeholders and provide thought leadership as needed.
• Might require travel to mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences, trials, training, or other proceedings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Law, HR, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years of employment law, risk management, or insurance experience related to employment practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree.
• J.D.
