About the role

The ideal candidate will bring civil engineering design experience with a focus on delivering and/or managing projects for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). Candidates experience should include a leading technical approach and delivery of roadway tasks, and/or leading delivery of transportation design projects for FDOT, with Districts 1, 5 and 7 preferable.

Responsibilities

  • Works under a Transportation Team Leader in the development of roadway design projects for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)
  • Works closely with the other design staff, consultants, and clients to deliver projects that contribute to the growth and safety of Texas roadways
  • Aids in managing the workload of design staff including other Engineers, EIT’s, and technical staff
  • Aids in development and management of project scopes, budgets, and schedules
  • Reviews transportation designs and detailed plans for accuracy and consistency
  • Reports on project progress
  • Collaborates with clients and other consultants
  • Works with the Transportation Team Leader and Operations Manager in business development activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in civil, public works or transportation project delivery, with at least 4 years’ post PE License preferred
  • Floirda Department of Transportation (FDOT) experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Florida
  • Demonstrated ability to design and review in MicroStation
  • Ability to lead a project and supervise technical staff
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A positive attitude, self-directed yet a team player and a person of high character with a focus on quality, integrity and success

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
