About the role
This role serves as the embedded communications lead for a large-scale commercial transformation, responsible for building and executing a cohesive, audience-specific communications strategy across 20-25 concurrent workstreams within the client's B2B sales organization.
Responsibilities
- Build and manage a comprehensive communications plan spanning 20-25 transformation workstreams, ensuring messaging consistency and alignment across all teams and audiences
- Partner with workstream leaders to understand scope of change, identify impacted audiences, and develop targeted, clear messaging for each stakeholder group (Sales, Sales Ops, Customer Service, and leadership)
- Develop both the overarching communications strategy and hands-on execution, including written materials, decks, and leadership-facing updates
- Act as the communications quarterback across all workstreams, identifying and resolving conflicting messages before they reach employees or stakeholders
- Present recommendations and progress updates to executive leadership, incorporating feedback and adjusting approach as needed
- Track and measure communication effectiveness and employee adoption, using data to inform and improve the overall strategy
- Operate independently with limited day-to-day oversight, creating structure and clarity in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment
Requirements
- 8-10 years of experience in communications with a strong focus on change management and organizational transformation
- Demonstrated experience supporting a large B2B sales or commercial organization through a major transformation (team structure, compensation, go-to-market, or similar)
- Proven ability to build and execute communications plans across complex, multi-workstream programs
- Strong executive presence with experience advising and presenting to senior and executive-level stakeholders
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex changes into clear, audience-specific messaging
- Highly organized and self-directed, with a track record of managing multiple workstreams and competing priorities independently
- Experience measuring communication effectiveness and driving employee understanding and adoption
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence without direct authority and establish trust quickly in a new environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in the CPG industry or adjacent sectors with familiarity across a broad range of customer and sales segment types
- Familiarity with various sales roles including field-based sales, account management, sales ops, and sales enablement
- Experience communicating around compensation plan changes, incentive structures, and annual goal-setting processes
- Comfort using project planning tools such as Smartsheet or similar platforms
