Senior CAD Technician

About the role

The candidate will be responsible for drafting detailed topographic and construction survey plans, working closely under the direction of the Survey Manager. This role involves translating field data into precise CAD drawings, creating boundary surveys, topographic maps, and construction layouts that align with project specifications and standards. The technician will ensure all plans are accurate and meet project requirements, supporting field teams in making informed, data-driven decisions throughout the construction process. Collaboration with surveyors and project managers is essential to maintain alignment on project goals and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and preparing topographic and construction survey plans.
• Collaborating with the Survey Manager to ensure accurate plan preparation.
• Calculating layout information and preparing files for field crews.
• Performing survey data processing, 3D modeling, and volume calculations.
• Communicating effectively with team members and clients as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years experience with Autodesk Civil 3D, Navisworks, Revit & MicroStation
• Proficiency in preparing topographic and construction survey plans.
• Strong knowledge of survey data processing, 3D modeling, preparing section/profile views, and volume calculations.
• Ability to perform accurate calculations using GPS and data processing tools.
• Experience in preparing data for survey field crews.
• Excellent attention to detail and drive for excellence.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills are a must.
• Ability to work without supervision as well as within a busy and close-knit team environment.

Pay

Pay range $30 - $35 per hour based on experience

This is a full-time position with the option to work remotely or onsite.
