Senior CAD Technician
About the role
Sherwood is a civil and environmental engineering firm dedicated to sustainable infrastructure, water management, green building design, and systems-based solutions. Founded in 2003, we have completed over thirty award-winning projects, including the Hudson Yards in New York and the Greater New Orleans Urban Water Plan.
Responsibilities
- Create/revise existing drawings in accordance with company established procedures, practices, and standards
- Interpret architectural and engineering notes, written instructions, and detailed sketches to prepare clear and detailed drawings
- Read and interpret technical architectural and civil design drawings
- Utilize computer software to complete assignments
- Mentor junior staff in supporting Sherwood's CAD capabilities
Requirements
- Typically 10+ years of experience in Autodesk Civil 3D
- Expert knowledge of Windows, MS Office, and Google Workspace
- Demonstrated ability to identify, diagnose, and solve complex problems
- Strong ability to accurately estimate task durations and manage multiple assignments
- Extensive knowledge of industry information and current with industry standards
- Growth-mindset and human-centered leadership skills
- Advanced customer service skills and the ability to influence others
- Ability to travel occasionally to various office locations within the U.S.
Preferred Skills
- 15+ years of experience in Autodesk Civil 3D
- Experience with Autodesk InfraWorks, BIM 360 Collaborate Pro, Docs, Map 3D, Raster Design, Civil Design, Survey, etc.

Pay
The wage range for this role is $105,000 to $118,000, with adjustments based on factors like experience and qualifications. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
Schedule
This position is hybrid, requiring a minimum of 3 days in office per week. Occasional travel to other offices may be required and is compensable time. This position is exempt from overtime.
