Senior Business Analyst (HR Solutions)
About the role
The HR Solutions Senior Business Analyst is a strategic member of the Corporate IT - Business Operations Technology team responsible for driving HR process excellence through technology and continuous improvement. This role partners closely with HRIS team, IT, and HR business stakeholders to translate organizational needs into effective system solutions that enable scalable, efficient, and compliant HR operations.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with HR, Payroll, IT, and other stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document technical requirements, develop end-to-end process flows, and translate needs into scalable technology solutions.
- Develop technical requirements documentation, GAP analysis reports, and future state process maps, including Value Stream Maps (VSMs), to highlight capabilities and improvement opportunities.
- Lead or manage project workstreams and small to medium initiatives, participating in end-to-end project execution from requirements through design, testing, deployment, and postimplementation support.
- Configure, support, and optimize Workday HCM modules in collaboration with the HRIS team.
- Analyze HR processes and system usage to identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, and enhanced user experience.
- Work closely with the HRIS team to design, build, and maintain advanced Workday reports, calculated fields, dashboards, and data insights to support operational and strategic decision making.
- Develop and track metrics to measure technology adoption, solution effectiveness, and overall project success.
- Provide tier 2 and tier 3 application support, troubleshooting complex issues, resolving configuration and data challenges, and collaborating with internal IT teams and external vendors.
- Support integrations between Workday and third-party systems (e.g., payroll, benefits, identity management), partnering with technical teams as needed.
- Ensure data integrity, security, compliance, and audit readiness through strong governance, system controls, and ongoing monitoring.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with HR business users and stakeholders at appropriate levels.
- Mentor and guide junior analysts, contributing to HR technology best practices, standards, and roadmap planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, or equivalent education, training and experience
- 4-6 years of relevant experience
- Workday Experience Required
Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical requirements and present insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to connect business challenges to effective technical solutions.
- Proven experience in process mapping and enterprise-level process architecture, with a holistic, end-to-end perspective.
- Strong knowledge of lean practices, information/document management, and operational or production planning.
- Good understanding of the IT application and systems landscape.
- Good understanding of IT processes and frameworks (e.g., ITIL, Enterprise Service/Support framework, Change Control framework).
- Experience with organizational readiness planning and change enablement.
- Strong understanding of organizational structure, departments, and cross-functional business operations.

Pay
Final pay is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For (Colorado/New York City/California/Washington/Maryland) this ranges from $95,000.00 - $120,000.00 plus annual incentive, benefits, and retirement program as outlined above.
