About the Role

Our client is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst (Sr BSA) to bridge business needs and technology solutions by leading business analysis, process discovery, requirements definition, stakeholder alignment, testing coordination, and deployment readiness for both small and complex initiatives. This role has a primary focus on Human Resources, including Core HR, Talent Management, Recruiting, Learning, Performance, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Workforce Planning, and Employee Experience initiatives.

The Sr BSA applies a fit-to-standard mindset in SaaS and packaged-platform environments, helping HR business partners align processes to scalable platform capabilities while ensuring configuration, integrations, data governance, compliance requirements, security controls, reporting, user experience, adoption, and downstream operational impacts are understood and addressed.

As a member of the Business Engagement Team, the Sr BSA serves as a key liaison between business partners, Functional BAs, platform teams, developers, vendors, solution architects, and IT leadership to ensure delivered solutions meet business outcomes and enterprise standards.

This position is hybrid, expected to be onsite in Irvine three days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Lead business systems analysis for the Hire to Retire value stream, partnering across HR, Finance, business leaders, and IT to improve employee lifecycle processes and supporting technologies including Oracle Fusion, Kronos, and ADP.
  • Support and partner in the identification and prioritization of business opportunities, focusing on long-term strategic goals. Lead the cultivation and refinement of these ideas into actionable demands including comprehensive business cases.
  • Conduct detailed assessments of current business processes using flowcharts and analytical tools to document and identify gaps, inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
  • Lead the elicitation and documentation of complex, cross-functional business requirements for corporate and strategic priority initiatives.
  • Ensure business requirements are met by partnering with the QA team in black-box testing and leading UAT efforts, including test strategy, planning, execution, and issue resolution. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Engage in post-implementation reviews to identify lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate effective communications between business partners, delivery teams, and executive stakeholders.
  • Guide less experienced and new BSA team members. Work with Training and Development to create effective training media and training plans for end users of solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Technology, Engineering, or Business.
  • 5-10 years of progressively increasing responsibility as a Business Systems Analyst (BSA).
  • Equivalent business experience, with extensive involvement in process analysis, process design, and documentation.
  • Involvement in complex, large-scale, and high-impact projects/platform implementations that add significant business value.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting end-to-end Hire to Retire processes, including recruiting, onboarding, workforce administration, time and attendance, payroll, benefits, learning, and offboarding.
  • Experience conducting detailed process analysis and requirements elicitation for HR and workforce-related systems in both corporate and operational environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion HCM; additional experience or integration exposure to Kronos (UKG) and ADP strongly preferred.

Skills

  • Deep process knowledge of key end-to-end processes like Hire to Retire and HCM.
  • Ability to perform system and process analysis duties including flow charting and value stream mapping using process and software documentation tools.
  • Direct participation and experience with multiple software platform implementations.
  • Strong partnership skills working with HR, Finance, business leaders, and IT to improve employee lifecycle experiences and operational efficiency.
  • Proven ability to lead UAT and readiness activities for HR solutions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and usability across diverse employee populations.
  • Understanding of data privacy, controls, and compliance considerations within HR systems and processes.
  • Ability to translate HR policy and business needs into clear, actionable system requirements and training materials.
  • Prior experience with process improvement methodologies and tools (Kaizen, Six Sigma, Green/Black Belt, etc.).
  • Understanding of data systems, databases, software development life cycle, and information and application architecture.
  • Experience leading the development of UAT and QA testing plans and cases.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new software and technology.
  • Project management skills a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Pay

Hourly rate: $60-$75 (depends on experience level). Upon conversion, salary: $125,000 - $132,000 (based on experience level).
