About the role

The Senior Building Controls Technician position at The Building People is responsible for managing and maintaining building control systems to ensure optimal energy efficiency and safety. This role requires a strong background in HVAC/R and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of building control systems including HVAC, lighting, and security systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure system reliability.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to building controls.
  • Collaborate with other departments to implement energy-saving measures and improve building performance.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in building controls or related field.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software for HVAC/R and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of building automation systems and energy management principles.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

  • Experience with building automation systems (BAS).
  • Hands-on experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, and networked systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay

$77,964 - $90,586 per year (based on experience and qualifications)
