About the role
The Building Operations & Controls Engineer 3 position at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory is responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of building systems. This includes managing energy efficiency initiatives, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and providing technical support to facility staff.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of building systems including HVAC, lighting, and plumbing.
- Develop and implement energy efficiency strategies and monitor performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards.
- Provide technical guidance and training to facility staff.
- Collaborate with other departments to address complex facility issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in building operations and controls.
- Experience with building automation systems and energy management software.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Experience with LEED certification processes.
- Knowledge of green building practices and technologies.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with building automation systems (BAS).
