Senior Attorney
The primary function of this position is to protect the legal rights of the Cooperative and assist in maintaining its operations within the scope established by law. This position is responsible for negotiating and litigating assigned matters before the Maryland PSC, FERC, and other regulatory agencies, and is a primary liaison with the PSC commissioners and their staff.
This position will identify legal and regulatory risks facing the Cooperative and develop strategies to mitigate such risks, including the implementation of effective risk management tools and processes. The Senior Attorney will also draft, review, and negotiate contracts and other transaction-related agreements, as well as review, monitor, and litigate and/or recommend settlements of legal claims. This position will also retain and coordinate efforts of outside legal counsel, as approved, and provide in-house guidance and counsel.
Requirements
- A four-year college degree
- A Juris Doctor from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association
- Admission to and membership in good standing of the Bar of Maryland
- Previous progressive experience in an electric utility or similar business or an agency regulating utilities is highly desired

Pay
The starting salary range for this position is $146,300 - $204,600.
