Senior Associate Attorney

About the Role

Lydecker is seeking an attorney with 5+ years of experience for our Miami office. The firm provides extensive training to its new associates. Under the supervision of a partner, the associate will handle a variety of cases, including the defense of Labor and Employment law and/or General Liability.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and respond to petitions/complaints, motions, and written discovery
• Attend hearings and meetings with clients when requested
• Prepare for and attend depositions
• Assist with preparation for and/or participate in mediation and trial
• Bill required hours
• Perform any other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Florida bar license in good standing
• JD from an ABA-approved law school
• Minimum of 5 years of civil defense litigation experience, preferably in Labor and Employment or General Liability
• Experience managing up to 30 cases simultaneously
• Experience taking and defending depositions, appearing in court, drafting motions and discovery
• Mediation and trial experience is a plus
• Experience mentoring junior associates is a plus
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft products, internet software, and spreadsheet/word processing software
• Ability to type and operate office equipment
• Self-motivated with strong client communication skills
