This position offers the opportunity to handle complex cases with a Partner, as well as work cases independently. We are a litigation focused firm that leverages technology in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Responsibilities
- Handle complex cases with a Partner, as well as work cases independently.
- Leverage technology in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Progress towards board certification in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
- Conduct trial preparation, drafting, bench trials, jury trials, depositions, mediations, and complex discovery work.
- Proactively and timely communicate with clients, manage a docket of approximately 40 to 60 cases, and nurture referral sources and professional relationships.
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited institution
- Licensed to practice law by the State Bar of Texas, and in good standing
- Demonstrated aptitude toward, and interest in the following skillsets:
- Trial preparation
- Drafting ability
- Conducting bench trials as first or second chair
- Conducting jury trials as first or second chair
- Conducting and defending depositions
- Preparing for and participating in mediations
- Proactively and timely case communications
- Consistent, empathetic client communications
- Complex discovery work
- Ability to conduct casework without over-reliance on support staff
- Ability to manage a docket of between approximately 40 and 60 cases
Senior Associate Requirements
- Board Certification in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization
- Demonstrated history of converting potential new clients to clients of the firm
- Mastery of local rules, procedures, and deadlines
- Mastery of the Texas Family Code and Texas Rules of Civil Procedure
- Interest in nurturing referral sources and professional relationships
