About the role

As a Senior Architectural Specialist at NewGround, you’ll be a key contributor to our mission of transforming vision into reality for financial institutions, healthcare providers, and corporations. You’ll lead the preparation of architectural construction documents, coordinate with internal and external teams, and help shape projects, teams, and experiences that make a difference.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare working drawings and coordinate with the Design Architect on project design.
  • Coordinate with Project Executives, Marketing, and Business Development on project delivery.
  • Lead project design in client meetings during appropriate phases.
  • Coordinate with local project Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) and manage the permit process through approval.
  • Prepare clarification of project development documents.
  • Assist in preparation of Contract Change Orders.
  • Check shop drawings, review submittals, and respond to RFIs.
  • Make field trips as necessary to verify information.
  • Coordinate with engineering and specification writers.
  • Assist in the preparation of specifications and ensure knowledge of building regulations.
  • Function as a detailer to complete projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Perform all other related work as assigned or as apparent.
  • Assist the Director of Production in mentoring junior staff.

BIM Support

  • Support the implementation of BIM and related add-on software, parametric content, library files, and templates throughout preconstruction and construction phases.
  • Work closely with architecture, interior design, and external design partners to execute a project strategy and improve workflow for BIM-related duties.
  • Guide and train in-house personnel to become proficient with new add-on software and provide technical orientation to new hires.
  • Manage and evaluate new tools and software updates for Revit and other BIM software, interfacing with IT on hardware/software interactions.
  • Implement new version releases, maintain legacy software, and customize software for specific firm needs.

Requirements

  • Architectural License required; NCARB certification preferred.
  • Multiple State Architectural Licenses preferred.
  • 10 years of professional experience in commercial architecture.
  • LEED AP credential preferred.
  • WELL AP credential preferred.
  • Well-versed knowledge of building codes and accessibility codes.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Revit; experience with Speclink and Procore preferred.
  • Experience with multi-story buildings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (MS Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
