Description

Shive-Hattery is seeking an Sr. Architect / Project Manager to join our office in Kansas City, MO. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of Shive-Hattery’s presence in the market by leveraging our national portfolio of Federal and Justice work to cultivate new opportunities and relationships both, in the region and nationally.

Requirements

  • At least 8 to 15+ years of experience in architecture working in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Completed an accredited professional degree program with either a bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Licensure in KS or MO, or the ability to become licensed in KS or MO is required.
  • A proven track record of outward facing business development and a willingness to engage with potential future clients.
  • Experience leading the design and project management of complex projects through engaging in design meetings, generating ideas, collaborating with staff, and working on guiding the overall direction and tracking of the project.
  • Experience managing and supervising project teams comprising architects, engineers, and designers for medium to large projects with a high degree of focus on federal, justice, and civic projects.
  • Demonstrated aptitude/proficiencies consistent with senior-level experience for a motivated and creative professional; able to design with inherent understanding of building systems; capable of designing projects for high quality public clients in Justice and Federal markets, in associations with Public Business Unit sector with limited involvement with private developer clients.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, SpecLink, and Microsoft Office is necessary. Familiarity with AutoCAD, Google SketchUp and the Adobe Suite is beneficial.
  • A strong can-do attitude with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive/effective team building skills.
