About the role
The ideal candidate will bring 10 to 15 years of experience in architecture, working in a multidisciplinary environment. They will manage and supervise project teams, leading the design and project management of complex projects, particularly those involving federal, justice, and civic projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise project teams comprising architects, engineers, and designers for medium to large projects.
- Lead design and project management through engaging in design meetings, generating ideas, collaborating with staff, and guiding the overall direction of the project.
- Direct non-licensed and other professionals assigned to design, produce, and coordinate the design process and technical documents.
- Attend project and client meetings as the representative of Shive-Hattery.
- Design projects for high-quality public clients in Justice and Federal markets, with a strong understanding of building systems and current ADA requirements.
- Ensure compliance with architectural specifications, local, state, and federal building codes, and life safety codes.
- Design with a thorough understanding of building systems and have experience in designing projects of varying scale and complexity within the federal and civic sectors.
- Be self-motivated, excel in independent problem-solving, and possess excellent communication skills.
- Have proficiency in Autodesk Revit, SpecLink, and Microsoft Office, with familiarity in AutoCAD, Google SketchUp, and the Adobe Suite.
Requirements
- At least 10 to 15+ years of experience in architecture, working in a multidisciplinary environment.
- A completed accredited professional degree program with either a bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture, or equivalent education and experience.
- Licensure in AZ, or the ability to become licensed in AZ.
- A proven track record of outward-facing business development and a willingness to engage with potential future clients.
- A thorough understanding of architectural specifications, local, state, and federal building codes, life safety codes, and current ADA requirements.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, SpecLink, and Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Google SketchUp, and the Adobe Suite.
- A strong can-do attitude with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A collaborative and positive/effective team-building approach.
