About the role
This opportunity is open to candidates residing in Austin, TX and surrounding Central Texas communities.
Responsibilities
- Help drive SEH's continued growth and strengthen our presence in Central Texas by building long-term client relationships and identifying new opportunities within the municipal market.
- Develop and maintain trusted partnerships with municipal leaders and helping clients navigate their facility and infrastructure needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across SEH to successfully deliver architectural projects that serve communities and improve quality of life.
- Help expand and elevate SEH's Architecture Practice in Austin by identifying opportunities, cultivating relationships, and contributing to market strategy.
- Market SEH's municipal architecture services, including public safety, civic, public works, operations, transportation, and other community-serving facilities.
- Prepare and deliver proposal presentations while coordinating communication between clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Lead client meetings and develop relationships with municipal agencies, local governments, and select private-sector clients to secure new projects aligned with strategic growth objectives.
- Guide clients through every phase of project development, from visioning and planning through design and implementation.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to emerging professionals and project teams.
- Represent SEH at conferences, industry events, and professional organizations to strengthen SEH's visibility and grow our network throughout Central Texas and the broader Texas municipal market.
- Stay connected to evolving market trends, funding opportunities, and community needs to help position SEH as a trusted partner for public-sector clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture.
- Licensed Architect in the state of Texas, or ability to obtain Texas licensure through reciprocity.
- Proven expertise managing municipal architectural projects and leading project teams.
- Strong business management skills with previous leadership experience and demonstrated success securing new work, building professional networks, and expanding market presence.
- Established relationships within the municipal, public-sector, or civic development market and a demonstrated ability to cultivate new client partnerships.
- Understanding of market economics, industry trends, client needs, and successful delivery of architectural services within the Texas market.
- Strong networking, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to travel by car as needed for client meetings, project site visits, team collaboration, and business development activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in municipal project design and execution.
- Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects through effective prioritization, planning, and resource management.
- Demonstrated understanding of project financial metrics and the ability to actively manage project performance and profitability.
- Proven business development experience with a track record of securing new opportunities, growing client relationships, and expanding market presence.
- Experience leading public-sector projects involving civic facilities, public safety facilities, public works facilities, operations centers, transportation-related facilities, or other community-serving infrastructure.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to successfully guide clients and project teams through the architectural design process.
- NCARB Certification with the ability to obtain licensure in additional states.
