About The Role
The Senior Actuarial Analyst will support our growing national actuarial practice. This role will primarily support regular reporting needs for our clients, including experience reporting, budget projections, and reserve setting. As projects arise, the Senior Actuarial Analyst will be expected to do ad hoc analysis within our data warehouse or in Excel in support of national initiatives or by request of our clients. This role may collaborate across other teams such as clinical, pharmacy, and development teams. The role may also work closing with regional financial teams as needs arise.
Responsibilities
- Review junior colleagues’ work on standard financial deliverables
- Complete initial data analysis for complex standard reports and ad hoc projects
- Complete client deliverables, meeting team and client expectations and deadlines
- Execute projects, including: experience reports, budget projections, reserve setting, creditable coverage sing, and network comparisons
- Update, build, and review tools and templates
- Gain understanding of strategic planning process, client service cycle, and how the financial team supports our clients through the cycle
- Work on special projects and continue to build technical skills
- Support junior analysts’ development through peer review and mentorship
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree. Major in actuarial science, mathematics, finance, economics or business preferred
- Successful completion of 3 or more Actuarial exams
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in employee benefits consulting or insurance carrier
- Self-funded client experience with exposure to budget setting and IBNRs preferred
- Strong technical skills demonstrated through Excel, VBA, Power Query, PowerBI, and/or SQL
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to manipulate and analyze data
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated history of managing multiple projects
- Detail-oriented, with strong organization and time-management skills
- Experience leading client projects and delivering client presentations
