Training And Experience (position Requirements At Entry)

The minimum qualifications for this position include:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field, plus 4 years of progressively responsible experience in government budget, finance, and accounting activities.
  • A minimum of three years of ACFR or governmental Budget experience is required.
  • A CPA or Master’s degree in a related field is highly desirable.

Examples of Important & Essential Duties

The Senior Finance Analyst will prepare and review journal entries and supporting documentation, reconcile subledgers to the general ledger for various City grants, account for investment activity and prepare monthly and quarterly reports, prepare supporting documentation for the year end audit and Annual Comprehensive Financial Report as well as the City’s Single Audit and other required financial reports, administer banking and investment authorizations, assist with ad-hoc assignments such as internal cost allocation study, tax assessments, pension and OPEB actuarial evaluations, review and test the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and other financial software, research and implement new GASB Pronouncements, and perform complex data analysis.
