Senior Accounting Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a highly driven Senior Accounting Manager to join a high-growth, dynamic organization and report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with a strong foundation in public accounting who thrives in fast-paced environments and is eager to build, scale, and improve accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
• Oversee and optimize the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP, delivering insights to senior leadership
• Parenthood and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP, delivering insights to senior leadership
• Partner closely with the CFO on financial reporting, strategic initiatives, and operational improvements
• Supervise, mentor, and develop a small accounting team, fostering accountability, growth, and continuous improvement
• Ensure accuracy in payroll review and approval, maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations
• Drive monthly financial analysis, including variance and trend analysis, to support decision-making
• Establish, enhance, and enforce internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
• Lead coordination with external auditors and tax advisors for audits and compliance matters
• Oversee state and local tax compliance and filings
• Champion process improvement initiatives, automation, and efficiencies across accounting functions
• Lead or support special projects and strategic initiatives as the company scales

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting (Big 4 or regional firm preferred)
• Minimum 3+ years of management experience, including leading and developing small teams
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• Demonstrated experience working in high-growth, fast-paced environments
• Proven track record of being hands-on while also leading strategically
